Perhaps offsetting that is the 4Runner’s enviable quality. But the Toyota comes up short in terms of equipment, performance and safety features when compared with the competition. It has a nice deep note that actually starts to quiet down above 3k rpm, which will be good for long highway trips. It's certainly louder than stock, but not too loud. After driving it for about a week, I've noticed that my exhaust flows better, the throttle responds better to my input (might be because of the old clogged cat), and the sound is more prominent. Took about 3 hours, removal and installation. The hardest part was getting the system off the rubber hangers and getting the gaskets inside the flange without them falling out before tightening the bolts on the new system. Luckily my old system and cat weren't hard to get off, they simply unbolted. I needed to replace the catalytic converter and my existing cat back was looking a little old and tired, so I bought both.
